D&W build dream home for local family

Catch up with our huge 4-storey pre-fab, designed with the next generation in mind

Our latest project has been probably the biggest, most complicated pre-fab project we’ve ever done. Starting life as a softwood frame in our workshop, we had it delivered panel by panel for assembly at the site in Downderry. The four-storey build will soon become a dream home for a young family, so it’s the type of job that’s always hugely satisfying to be part of. And since the owners grew up in the village and have now moved back with their kids, it’s especially great to be building a local family a home of their very own.

As a large, detached house with plenty going on inside, we’ve focused on making it as energy-efficient as possible, ensuring high insulation properties, and eco-aspects such as solar panels on the roof and an air source heating system. We’re the main contractor and are running the job from start to finish, but the groundworks were completed by C-Shore Developments, and we’ll sub-contract plumbing and electrics. As usual, the build will be topped off by our trusted roofing crew, KWRS. Considering the scale of the project and the collaboration it demands, it’s gone fantastically well so far. Watch this space!
