D&W to manage re-model & extension

See the exciting new plans for our upcoming build in Seaton

Since our last update, we’ve been keenly awaiting the green light to fill you in on our latest upcoming project – and here it is. We’ll be managing a house re-modelling and extension for a Mr and Mrs Feldwick in Seaton, and as you can see from the drawings, it’s shaping up to be a really beautiful, classic coastal property.

The job will include a small amount of groundworks and blockwork, on top of which we be building an extension to the existing property. The timber frame for this extension will be a custom-build pre-fab, built at the Doyle & Whitley yard. When all’s finished, the couple will be left to enjoy a modern, much more spacious family home, with some fantastic sea views.

With its secluded south-east Cornwall location, shielding it from the flow of tourists in summer; small, family-friendly beach (dogs are welcome too) and typically Cornish landscape of steep hillside meeting ocean – perfect for sea views like the Feldwicks will have – the coastline around Seaton has become a favourite location for new builds, over the last decade or two.

Speaking of which, we’re now on to the second-fix of our other build at nextdoor Downderry, the four-storey family home. We’re now watertight with roof on, as installed by KWRS; the solar array is installed, and we’re beginning the process of internal finishing. It’s exciting times for the guys moving in, and soon they’ll be able to start making the house we’ve built into their home.
